The Benromach 50YO No1 experience referred to in these terms & conditions (the “No1 Experience”) is for only the customer (the “customer”) who has purchased and duly registered bottle number one (001/248) (“Bottle No1”) of the Benromach 50 year old single malt Scotch whisky 2024 (the “Benromach 50yo”).
The No1 Experience comprises:
a tour of the Benromach Distillery, Forres, Scotland,
a whisky tasting,
a ‘distiller for the day’ experience where the customer will work alongside our distillery team (details of which are set out below), and
an overnight stay in Elgin, Scotland.

The No1 Experience is provided by Speymalt Whisky Distributors Limited trading as Benromach (“us”, “we”, “Benromach”) (Scottish Company Number SC037522); our registered office is at George House, Boroughbriggs Road, Elgin, Scotland, IV30 1JY.
The No1 Experience is provided to the customer (“you”) who:
purchases Bottle No1 (001/248) of the Benromach 50yo, and
before 31st January 2025 validly books the No1 Experience with our Benromach hosts, and
before 31st December 2025 validly redeems the No1 Experience.
The No1 Experience may be redeemed when a member of the Benromach team contacts the customer after purchase detailing the offer and conditions. If Bottle No1 is bought after 31st January 2025, you may still complete the product verification, but the No1 Experience will not be available to you.
After purchase a member of the team will be in touch directly to confirm your booking. The No1 Experience shall be at a mutually convenient date and time selected by you from the options available, which options will be subject to availability and capacity at the Benromach Distillery from time to time. Whilst we will use our reasonable endeavours to accommodate your preferences for date and time, we cannot guarantee to meet them. If we are unable to accommodate your preferences for date and time by 31st December 2025, your entitlement to the No1 Experience will expire without penalty to us.
The No1 Experience must be booked to take place no later than 31st
December 2025, failing which the entitlement to it will expire without penalty to us.
The No1 Experience may be redeemed only once.
There is no additional charge for the No1 Experience.
The No1 Experience does not include travel, which the customer must arrange at their own cost. One night’s accommodation for the customer will be provided by Benromach as part of the No1 Experience, at a venue of Benromach’s choosing.
The No1 Experience is available only to customers aged 18 years and older. Evidence of address and proof of age may be required. We reserve the right without penalty to refuse entry to the Benromach Distillery to any customer not able to prove their age, and will not be obliged to provide a rebooking for the No1 Experience or any alternative arrangement in such circumstances.
This section explains the distiller for the day’ experience.:
The ‘distiller for the day’ experience is part of the No1 Experience.
It will allow the customer to shadow and observe the distiller and the distilling process at the Benromach distillery.
A full itinerary for the ‘distiller for the day’ experience will be produced by us and provided to you in advance of the experience but it is anticipated to include:
A welcome to the Benromach distillery incorporating site induction and safety briefing. This is mandatory, as are any other briefings provided in relation to the day.
Engagement in distilling operations, to include:
observing the distillation process, malting, mashing in, fermentation, distillation and the boiler house;
supervised involvement in valve operation, pump operation and cask filling; and
elements of supervised manual handling which may include the lifting of lids, hose, bung removal and installation
There will be some limited manual handling involved (for which appropriate training will be provided) but you will undertake no unsupervised works as part of the ‘distiller for the day’ experience.
You must adhere to all current published work instructions, policies and procedures for the Benromach distillery site as well as current risk assessments. All these will be made available to you and explained to you as part of your site induction.
The ‘distiller for the day’ experience has elements of physicality. It requires a lot of walking, and will include going both up and down stairs and moving over areas with steps. Because of this, and the nature of the site, it is essential that you advise us in advance if you have any limitation to your physical fitness or ability, or any medical or other condition which may affect your participation in any way. In particular, you must declare to us if you have any medical devices, e.g. pacemaker or diabetic monitor as this may mean that for your own and others’ safety, and compliance with applicable regulations, we will have to restrict your access to certain tasks that involve magnets and/or ATEX (explosive atmospheres) rated areas.
Whilst we will make reasonable adjustments, it may not be possible to adjust every aspect of the ‘distiller for the day’ to allow fully for any disability or condition or device which you may have.
Photographs are permitted during the ‘distiller for the day’ experience but:
your mobile phone must be placed in airplane mode;
it must be held in the desk area nominated by Benromach and
the supervisor of the experience will be able to advise where photographs can be taken (which will be in accordance with ATEX rated areas.
The No1 Experience is non-transferable and there is no cash or other alternative to the No1 Experience. The No1 Experience may not be redeemed or exchanged for money or in kind for any product. However Benromach reserves the right to provide an alternative experience of equal or greater value if the advertised No1 Experience becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the control of Benromach.
Redeeming the No1 Experience means that the customer will not be able to access the ‘Distillery Experience’ offered to all other purchasers of the Benromach 50yo (bottles number 2 to 248), unless the customer has in addition purchased one or more of bottles number 2 to 248 of the Benromach 50yo.
Throughout the No1 Experience, each customer shall comply with:
all health and safety and other on-site rules and procedures from time-to-time in force at the Benromach Distillery and communicated to them, and
the reasonable instructions of Benromach staff engaged in briefing, supervising or chaperoning customers, including but not limited to those leading the ‘distiller for the day’ experience.
By registering for the No1 Experience, you agree that your personal data submitted as part of the registration and booking processes will be stored and processed by Benromach as data controller in accordance with applicable data protection laws and in accordance with Benromach’s privacy policy [https://retail-gordonandmacphail.com/pages/privacy-policy], as applicable.
You agree that such data:
includes your name, address, contact details, and any other biographical data submitted in connection with the product registration process;
may be used by us and by our processors for the purposes of business analysis and research and for the administration of, and your participation in, the No1 Experience; and
may be used in marketing and promotional activity in connection with the competition in the legitimate interests of Benromach (but will not be utilised for unsolicited direct marketing unless you expressly opt-in to receive it.)
When registering for the ‘distiller for the day’ element of the No1 Experience, you will also be asked to provide to us information about any limitation to your physical fitness or ability, or any medical or other condition which may affect your participation in any way, and any medical device (such as pacemaker or diabetes monitor) which you have. We will use this information only for the purposes of ensuring compliance with applicable rules and regulations (including the Benromach distillery site rules and health and safety regulations), and with these terms & conditions. We will not share this information with any third party, except that we may share it with health or emergency services in the event of any incident involving you. We will retain this information for no longer than one year after which we will securely destroy it.

We are not responsible for the actions of customers or others attempting to either circumvent these terms and conditions or interfere with the product registration or booking processes. Any person found to be tampering with or abusing the product registration or booking processes, or anyone who we believe to be causing error or malfunction or disruption or damage, or anyone we consider to be in breach of these terms and conditions may be disqualified from completing the product registration process and/or redeeming the No1 Experience.
Neither we nor our employees, agents or representatives accept responsibility for any loss, damage or injury incurred by a customer (or anyone else) as a result of redemption of their prize as far as is permitted by law. Nothing in this condition limits any liability which cannot legally be limited.
The No1 Experience and these Terms & Conditions are governed by Scots law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish Courts.
